So the people in our community never cease to AMAZE me! A couple days ago I shared a picture of a friend who was walking a Chip & Joanna Gaines down in Texas for me. And today I am sharing something just as AWESOME!
About a week ago I talked at a Little Flowers meeting. Shortly following the meeting, I was messaged by one of the moms who’s daughter is a member of the group. She told me about how her daughter listened not only with her ears, but with her heart. We finished the conversation with her telling me her daughter was making me something very special and wondered if they could drop if off sometime this week. Of course I said yes after my heart swelled to twice it’s size, and then yesterday I was blessed with this beauty.
“Jesus will always be with you no matter where you are.”
To the mom of this sweet little girl, you are doing an amazing job. You are raising wonderful little humans that will grow up knowing that different isn’t a bad thing but, instead, a mountain that a person has been blessed with. It may take a village to climb to the top of that mountain and it will be trying at times, but as long as there is a will, there is a way. Keep teaching your people that kindness is contagious and being nice is more important than most things.
To the little girl, thanks for making this one legged mommy feel the love and make me excited for my kiddos to go to school. I’m so excited that my kids will hopefully have friends just like you. Because of you I know the world will get more beautiful on a daily basis. Thank you for not seeing the fact that I am missing a leg, but instead seeing a mom who hops on for a better tomorrow. You are going to do big things today, tomorrow, and every single day for the rest of your life. I know it. Your mom & dad & sisters know it. And you should know it too.
So now that I am done pouring my heart out about this picture a pretty fantastic 9 year old gave me, I have a favor to ask everyone else. Don’t be afraid to spread the kindness. To anyone. Differently abled, someone who is just like you, or someone who is not. Hold the door open, pay for their coffee, or even just a simple compliment will be more than enough. It will not go unnoticed. Let’s all follow this 9 year olds example, and make the world better. All it takes is one simple gesture to make someone else’s day a little more happy. And happiness & kindness can spread like wildfire if we all do our part. So let’s start that fire today and keep it burning as long as we can.
