Treat yourself. Treat yourself because being a mom is hard. Treat yourself because sometimes your job is stressful. Treat yourself because life is always going to throw you curve balls and be complicated. But most importantly, treat yourself because you need to treat yourself the way you expect others to treat you. Want others to show you kindness? Don’t be afraid to go get yourself a wash, cut and style at your hair place even if you only need a cut. Want others to show you compassion? Don’t be afraid to cut yourself some slack sometimes and give yourself some breathing room. Your life has bumps and curves too even if it isn’t visible to those around you. Stop feeling sorry for yourself because your husband or boyfriend or partner never buys you flowers or goes and tells you to take the afternoon to yourself. Your husband or boyfriend or partners or friends or family are not the only people that love you. You should love you too. And that’s why you should treat yourself if you feel the desire to do so.
Love yourself. You might not view yourself as the most beautiful, perfect, or skinny person in the world but loving yourself is far more than capability and physical appearance. You need to love yourself enough to know that you never deserve to reach your breaking point. You should not have to, excuse my French, lose your shit for someone to notice you need a break. You know you need a break so find a way to take one. Ask for help with the kids so you can go grocery shopping by yourself. Actually click buy now on that super cute sweater that you found on Amazon instead of just adding to cart and never finishing the order. I know mom’s often think of themselves last, it is just the way of the world, but trust me on this, those super cute boots sitting in your cart at Kohl’s will look much cuter on two legs than one. So buy the freaking boots while the buying is good. I mean it’s not every day you find super cute boots and have a 30% off. Don’t wait for life to show you how hard it can be before you even consider living a little because by then it may be too late. So treat yourself. I’m not saying every week or every month, but I am saying every once in awhile. Treating yourself shows how much respect and love you have for yourself. And if those two things could be measured, the amount you have for yourself better be off the charts….
P.S To the person who decided to pay it forward today and pay for my hair at INVU Salon, THANK YOU! You made my day!
