“Pray more. Worry less.” – Matthew 6:34
What does the worry wart have that the Believer does not? Perspective? The ability to proceed with caution? ERRRNT! Sorry. Wrong answer. The only thing that a worry wart has over a Believer is more worry. Having faith in Him = Having faith in yourself. Trust me on this my friends. It’s a real thing. There are many things about me and my life that I can not change. Only God can change them. And I’m going to remind you that the same God who made the beautiful peaks of mountains, the breathtaking sunsets, the calming waves of the ocean, and the gorgeous views of our world, also made you. And you need to own that. God has enough confidence in you to give you, yes you reading this right now, specific “imperfections” of life because He knows you can handle it. So why do we not have enough confidence in ourselves to know we can handle them too?
Burdens suck. We all know that. They are not ideal and they tend to make our lives harder for either short and/or extended periods of time. But burdens are also going to happen. It’s just how life is. Worrying about the heavy loads you are already carrying and that are yet to be piled on, is not going to make your load of life any less heavy. But knowing God would never set you up for failure will. Knowing God has braced your cart just right for the heavy loads will. Take that knowledge and it will give you the faith that you need to know that you will make it up the mountain that is life, though you may have a few breakdowns along the way. Whether it is a broken tire or hitch, it still needs fixed. All you need to do is get down there and fix it because God gave you all the tools to do so. Struggle through till you finish the task at hand because the struggle is actually part of the story. Your story. The parts where struggle can be found is where faith should also be found.
Like I said in my last post, no one makes it through this world in one piece. But “God can restore what is broken and turn it into something amazing. All you need is faith.” – Joel 2:25. Faith that even if how your life is put back together again is not identical to the way it was before, does not mean it it’s not a good life. There is a reason God put the broken pieces of our lives back together the way He did. There is a reason why He left some of our cracks visible and a reason why He did not reattach certain pieces. Worrying about the cracks and missing pieces is not going to turn you into a masterpiece. You are only taking away from the beauty by doing that. But having faith that your reconstruction by Him will make you stronger than you were when you were one whole piece, that, that will turn you into a masterpiece. With that being said, I think it’s safe to say we are always under construction. Walls will crumble and be built back up again like a revolving door that never keeps spinning. So don’t worry about getting to your destination in such a hurry. Take a few extra spins in that revolving door. God will get you where you need to be. Trust me. Actually, trust Him. He won’t let you down. He will make sure you are exactly where you need to be. “For I know the plans I have for you. Declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
